AIB (Allied Irish Bank)

Project Description

Branch literature and guidelines.

The first stage was to undertake an audit of a number of branches across Ireland, as well as an audit of the branches and literature of their competitors.

The design of a collection of 15 brochures and other collateral for the consumer in branch. These were designed in conjunction with the new branch branding, included layout, fixtures and fittings, signage and uniforms.

A systematic approach was required for the brochures to create a strong look and feel across the multiple applications. Characters and scenarios were devised for each brochure to represent the customers of AIB. These were then sourced and photographed in their settings. Each brochure told a story both photographically and by using customer quotes as well as containing all the relevant product information.

A colour palette of six core secondary colours was established. A formula was devised to apply three of these colours to each brochure across the range. A grid system, a typographical hierarchy and a variety of tool kits were also styled, including; pull out boxes, top tips, statements, tick boxes, next steps and call to actions. The combination of the elements provided variation and flexibility in the layouts producing a suite of literature that worked individually and as a collection.

Brand guidelines were produced alongside a toolkit and user guide for the brochures.
